Privacy Policy
The short version
There are no accounts and we never ask for your name or email. Your scores and settings stay on your device. The game is free because it shows ads from Google AdMob, and AdMob collects some device data to serve and measure those ads. If you buy Remove Ads, RevenueCat confirms the purchase using an anonymous ID. Nothing is sold by us to anyone.
What stays on your device
The game saves these in your device's local storage so they survive between sessions:
- Your best score and furthest wave
- Settings: sound, whether to skip the flight briefing, and whether you have seen the control hints
- Whether you have bought Remove Ads
None of this is sent to us. Deleting the app deletes all of it permanently.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Ads are shown by Google AdMob: a banner on the menu and game-over screens, an occasional full-screen ad between runs, and an optional video you can choose to watch for a second wind. To serve, cap and measure ads and to prevent fraud, AdMob and its partners may collect:
- Device identifiers, including the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking
- Your IP address and an approximate location derived from it
- Device type, operating system and app version
- Which ads were shown and whether they were tapped
- Crash and performance data from the ad software
Where the law requires it, a consent form appears before any ad loads. After that, iOS asks whether the app may track you. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, the advertising identifier is not shared and ads are less personalised; the game works exactly the same either way. Google's use of this data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Purchases (Apple and RevenueCat)
Payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card or Apple ID. To check that Remove Ads was bought and to restore it on a new device, the app sends the purchase receipt and a random, anonymous app user ID to RevenueCat, our purchase service. RevenueCat's policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Sharing your score
Sharing is optional and always started by you. The Share button hands a short message with your score and a link to the game to your device's share sheet. Where it goes after that is up to you.
Your choices
- Tracking: change it any time in iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.
- Ad consent: where it applies, a Privacy choices link on the title screen reopens the consent form.
- Ads: Remove Ads turns off the banner and between-run ads for good. The second-wind video is always optional.
- Your data: deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. To ask RevenueCat to delete purchase records, email us and we will handle it.
Players of every age
Paper Pilots is a general-audience game that anyone can enjoy. It has no accounts, chat or sign-up, so we never ask anyone for their name, email or age. Because the ads are general-audience ads, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 for advertising. If you are a parent and believe your child's information has been collected through the game, contact us and we will help remove it. Parents can also turn off tracking for the device in iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking, or use Screen Time to manage purchases.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
